I love the symbol of the Lotus Flower. These flowers tend only to develop in a calm, muddy water source. They sprout upwards towards the water’s surface and begin blossoming above it.
Buddhists recognize this action and believe it holds significance related to fortune and shining through the messy obstacles of life that affect all of us from time to time. 
They remind me of the quote, “Endeavor to Persevere”. It’s always nice to wear a little talisman to enhance our intentions.
